Ontario Health is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as an Organ and Tissue Donation Specialist. This exciting opportunity will allow you to make a significant impact in the lives of patients and their families.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to work in the Sudbury and Surrounding Region. As an Organ and Tissue Donation Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding each step of the donation process, from donor identification to medical donor management. You will work collaboratively with healthcare providers and families to ensure that every potential donor has the opportunity to donate lifesaving organs and tissues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations of potential donors
  • Establish collaborative approach plans with healthcare providers to enable donation
  • Facilitate communication with healthcare teams and provide updates to donor families
  • Support healthcare teams by requesting resources for tests and procedures
  • Recover past medical history from multiple sources
  • Negotiate OR resources for donor organ recovery surgery
  • Identify issues for follow-up and quality control
  • Work a variety of shifts, including on-call shifts with travel within Sudbury and the surrounding area
Requirements
  • Nursing Diploma and/or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum three years critical care and/or relevant organ and tissue donation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
