Key Responsibilities- Provide Nursing Care: Deliver exceptional nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
- Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs, and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Implement and Evaluate Care: Implement care plans and evaluate their effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
- Ensure Resident Safety: Ensure timely and safe resident transfers and discharges, and maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.
- Manage Medications: Ensure the safe and effective management of medications, including the control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant legislation and regulations. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Clearances: Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a clear Criminal Record check.
