Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting radiation surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct radiation surveys and inspections in compliance with ES&H and RP programs
  • Collect and analyze samples for radiation contamination
  • Identify and control spills of hazardous chemicals and nuclear contamination
  • Survey and inspect work areas for nuclear hazards and health risks
  • Develop and implement health and safety plans to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform worker pre-job briefs to identify potential hazards
  • Conduct air sampling and data analysis to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 5+ years of experience in radiation protection, with a focus on nuclear industry
  • Strong knowledge of ES&H and RP programs, as well as regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. nuclear engineering, health physics)
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CHST, CHMM)
  • Experience with radiation detection and measurement equipment
