Position Overview

The Royal Mental Health Centre is seeking a dedicated Cognitive Imaging Research Specialist to join our innovative team. This role is integral to advancing our understanding of mental health through neuroimaging research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of neuroimaging studies, ensuring compliance with ethical research standards.
  • Engage in all phases of neuroimaging data collection and analysis, including the development of analysis protocols.
  • Author and present research findings in peer-reviewed journals and at scientific conferences.
  • Mentor graduate students in neuroimaging techniques and data analysis.
  • Develop and submit research proposals to secure funding for ongoing projects.
  • Foster collaborations across disciplines and institutions to enhance research initiatives.
  • Conduct clinical assessments as part of research protocols.
  • Stay informed on current research trends in PTSD and related mental health issues.
  • Serve as a liaison among study participants, research teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize neuroimaging equipment safely and effectively, addressing any technical challenges that arise.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD or MD/PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in clinical research within neuroscience.
  • Strong publication record and experience in functional MRI analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Understanding of ethical considerations in human research.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
