We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our esteemed practice at Dr. Zaeem ul Islam Veterinary Medicine Professional Corporation. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary team.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a veterinary or animal care setting.
The successful candidate will work in a busy animal hospital, where teamwork and communication are key to delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the handling, restraint, and care of animals during treatment and surgical procedures.
- Support veterinarians before, during, and after surgical interventions.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Participate in laboratory research and assist with various clinical tasks.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
- Deliver wound care and manage bandaging for injured animals.
All candidates must undergo a criminal record check to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Physical Requirements- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Capable of performing a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Must be prepared for physically demanding tasks.
- Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exhibits flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized and efficient in task management.
- Works effectively as part of a team.
This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week, with English as the primary working language.
