We are seeking a dedicated Cashier to manage transactions and provide exceptional customer service at our gas bar location. This role involves handling various payment methods and ensuring a smooth checkout experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Transaction Management: Operate the cash register efficiently, processing payments via cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, including accepting reservations and take-out orders.
- Inventory Support: Stock shelves and maintain cleanliness in the counter area to ensure a pleasant shopping environment.
- Sales Accuracy: Tabulate total payments for goods or services and reconcile daily/shift payments with total sales.
- Promotional Participation: Engage in promotional activities and suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
- Compliance: Verify the age of customers when selling restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
No formal education is required, and training will be provided for all necessary skills. We encourage applications from individuals participating in community programs supporting newcomers, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, mature workers, and visible minorities.
Work EnvironmentThis is a permanent position requiring 30 to 40 hours of work per week. The primary language of communication in this role is English.
