IT Support Specialist Role

Langara College is seeking an IT Support Specialist to enhance our academic environment. This position involves collaborating closely with faculty and providing essential support to students during computing science lab sessions.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary education and at least two semesters of post-secondary coursework in computing science, engineering, or information technology.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in customer service, particularly in tutoring or technical support roles is preferred.
  • Consideration will be given to a combination of relevant education and experience.
Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in English communication.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to users with varying levels of expertise.
  • Technical knowledge in web development, office software, programming languages, and technical drawing software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including evening hours.

* Availability to work on campus during specified hours is required.

Proficiency in Solidworks is essential for this role.
