We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at Hardcastle Formwork Ltd. As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will be responsible for assisting experienced carpenters in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of layouts and measurements to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel to construct building frameworks.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to create safe and secure structures.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
- Work Site Environment: You will be working at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions.
- Work Setting: You will be working in construction, at various locations, and in residential settings.
- Tasks: You will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, building foundations, and maintaining and repairing structures.
- Transportation/Travel Information: You will need to have your own transportation.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: You will be required to bend, crouch, kneel, handle heavy loads, and work in physically demanding conditions with tight deadlines.
- Own Tools/Equipment: You will need to provide your own steel-toed safety boots.
- Personal Suitability: You will need to be accurate, have good judgement, be reliable, and work well in a team.
- Experience: You will need to have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Financial Benefits: You will be entitled to benefits as per the collective agreement, including a permanent position, English as the primary language of work, and 37.5 hours of work per week.
