Job Description

**About the Role**

Informa Connect of Informa PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer - Data & AI Platforms to join our Data & AI Platforms group. This team is responsible for designing and building the shared data & generative AI ecosystems that support our B2B SaaS applications.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Data Platform Development: Design and build data platform functionality to support scalable and reliable data ingestion, storage, validations, governance, monitoring & observability, ELT patterns, and more.
  • AI Platform Development: Design and build AI platform functionality to support efficient development of production quality multimodal generative AI applications, including tooling to support accuracy, evaluation, and guardrails.
  • Project Ownership: Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of full projects from concept to delivery, including implementing well-designed spike and POC strategies.
  • Technical Leadership: Translate high-level direction into actionable work plans, including guiding other engineers to complete discrete tasks as part of overall workstream.
  • Software Engineering Best Practices: Implement software, data, and ML/AI engineering best practices, including related to software development lifecycle, testing, scaling, performance optimization, and more.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering colleagues to understand priorities and needs of other teams across Curinos.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to help team members.

**Requirements**

  • Advanced Proficiency: Python and SQL advanced proficiency.
  • Java or Scala Proficiency: Java or Scala proficiency is a plus.
  • Data Engineering Expertise: Expertise in data engineering best practices, including ETL/ELT, data monitoring & observability, and data validations.
  • Big Data Experience: Experience working with big data, including scaling data processing and distributed computing.
  • Communication Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills.
