Your Role:
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer who is passionate about crafting high-quality code and deploying solutions frequently. In this role, you will:
  • Develop and enhance tools that identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks associated with transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:
  • Help design the future of our risk management infrastructure by addressing complex technical challenges with reliable and maintainable solutions.
  • Create new tools for monitoring application verification, transaction oversight, and third-party collaborations.
  • Improve existing risk management tools by implementing top-tier solutions to meet our risk experience and loss prevention objectives.
  • Develop and execute risk management strategies, including in-house heuristics and rules to counteract fraud.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Customer Experience, Risk, Marketing) to ensure that risk considerations are integrated into all aspects of our offerings.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on payment risk and fraud.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with flexibility to adapt to the best tools for our risk domain.
  • A solid understanding of backend engineering, along with familiarity in React and its ecosystem for occasional enhancements to internal UI tools.
  • A curious mindset and a commitment to continuous learning in the tech industry.
  • The ability to navigate challenges and adapt to change, as we operate in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to share ideas and provide constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention vendors and streaming technologies.
