About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Success Coach. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and wellness of children, youth, and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based programming to promote mental health and addiction prevention in schools and community settings.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community members to increase knowledge, skills, and competence related to mental health and wellness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, youth, and families, and serve as a mental health subject matter expert for students, staff, parents, and community partners.
  • Help identify and facilitate access to specialized addiction and mental health services for individuals in need.
  • Ensure all documentation is in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Assist with evaluation activities and survey data collection as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health or social sciences field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services.
  • Knowledge of addiction and mental health services.
  • Familiarity with the developmental, educational, emotional, social, and recreational needs of children, youth, and families.
  • Experience with delivering programming and public speaking.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Takes initiative and works independently and in teams.
  • Facilitation, positive communication, and creative thinking skills.
  • Solid comprehension and practice of personal and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with young people.
  • Able to advocate for and enable others.
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable liaising with community members, school staff, community agencies, and healthcare providers.
  • Community collaboration/networking skills.
  • Understanding of the community's economic, cultural, and political environment.
  • Knowledge of local community resources.
  • Capable of maintaining program statistics for evaluation purposes.
  • Resilience and commitment to personal development.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs.
About St. Paul Education

St. Paul Education is a geographically and demographically diverse school division in Northeast Alberta. We serve a large rural/urban area, including the communities of St. Paul, Elk Point, Two Hills, Mallaig, Ashmont, Myrnam, and Heinsburg. We also serve students from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, Frog Lake First Nation, and Kehewin Cree Nation.
