Job Title: Fleet Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Boart Longyear. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of drilling equipment and mobile support equipment used in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose faults in equipment to determine the extent of repair required
  • Adjust and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with regulatory specifications
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Perform repair work on all Boart Longyear drilling equipment
  • May service specialty attachments or components and maintain, adjust, and repair such items
  • Ensure safe working conditions and establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments
  • Requisition parts, materials, and supplies
  • Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity

Requirements:

  • Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trade Certification (Red Seal)
  • Completion of secondary school is usually required
  • Completion of three- to five-year apprenticeship program
  • Valid driver's license and standard first aid certification
  • Underground common core and basic safety orientation an asset

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3+ years of directly related experience.
