Power Engineer

Job Summary

Creative Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Engineer to join our team. As a Relief Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Steam Plant, including routine maintenance, minor repairs, and good housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer in the operation of the Steam Plant
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure the plant's safe and efficient operation
  • Conduct rounds on boilers and auxiliary equipment, gathering and recording data as required
  • Communicate deficiencies to the Assistant Shift Engineer and escalate to the Assistant Chief Engineer or Chief Engineer as necessary
  • Perform lockouts and water tests as directed
  • Work with contractors to aid them in their tasks
  • Assist the Assistant Shift Engineer in safely moving or lifting heavy loads

Requirements

  • Hold a 2nd Class Power Engineering certificate
  • Several years of experience working as a Power Engineer in a high-pressure steam plant
  • Industrial trade tickets or certificates are considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Delta V control systems, and computerized maintenance management systems

Working Conditions

This is a 24/7 shift work position with 12-hour day and night shifts. You must be physically able to work in a steam plant.
