Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Surveyor to join our team at our Nunavut operation. As a key member of our mining operations team, you will be responsible for conducting detailed underground surveys to ensure the precise location, elevation, and dimensions of underground passages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed underground surveys using advanced surveying equipment and technology, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and other technical staff to integrate survey data into mining plans and operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing underground surveys.
  • Complete risk assessments and hazard identification in surveyed areas.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings and present them to management.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years' experience in surveying underground mining production.
  • Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and related software (Deswik, or AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of overall mining methods with a focus on underground mining methods.
