About the Role

B2Gold is seeking a skilled Surveyor to join our team in Nunavut, Canada. As a Surveyor, Underground, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our underground surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed underground surveys to determine the precise location, elevation, and dimensions of underground passages;
  • Utilize advanced surveying equipment and technology such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners;
  • Perform vertical raise layouts, control surveys, stope markups, and vent surveys;
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites;
  • Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and other technical staff to integrate survey data into mining plans and operations;
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing underground surveys;
  • Complete risk assessments and hazard identification in surveyed areas;
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings and present them to management;
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years' experience in surveying underground mining production;
  • Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Technology, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and related software (Deswik, or AutoCAD);
  • Knowledge of overall mining methods with a focus on underground mining methods.
