Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Homeroom Teacher to join our dynamic team at York Region District School Board. As a 0.5 Homeroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering academic excellence and promoting positive character development in our Junior School students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, teach, and assess students in accordance with BC Ministry of Education Curriculum and our homeroom program.
  • Develop and implement lessons that build core competencies and support growth in executive functioning and cognitive processing.
  • Support the development of Individual Education Plans for each student in your classes.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to ensure students receive the highest quality education and programming.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to students and parent/guardians regarding student progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Bachelor of Education, Elementary focus with preference given to those who specialize in math instruction.
  • BC Teacher Certification (or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching reading using a structured literacy approach is an asset.
  • Work with students who have learning differences is preferred.
