Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist to join our team at Emcon Services Inc. This role involves the maintenance and repair of various heavy-duty machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field is essential.
Work Environment

The position is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to various weather conditions, including:

  • Cold and refrigerated environments
  • Dusty and hot conditions
  • Noisy surroundings
Key Responsibilities
  • Instructing apprentices in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and inspecting machinery to identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Utilizing computerized testing equipment to diagnose issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Ordering parts and managing inventory effectively.
  • Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective components.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Testing repaired machinery to ensure compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Attaching components and adjusting new equipment as needed.
  • Performing routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Conducting repair work on heavy trucks and servicing attachments and tools.
  • Verifying and repairing emission control systems.
Physical and Personal Requirements

This role is physically demanding and requires:

  • Attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary.
  • Sound discrimination and hand-eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
