Azure Publishing is in search of a Senior Architectural Technologist with a robust background of 7-15 years in the field. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional eager to advance within the organization and take on greater responsibilities in ongoing and upcoming architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with clients, oversee design processes, and guide the production team to create comprehensive construction documentation. This includes ensuring compliance with building codes, securing necessary permits, coordinating with various consultants, and managing projects through to their successful completion.
  2. Assist in the development of standardized processes, procedures, and workflows.
  3. Work collaboratively to enhance the existing Revit template.
  4. Ensure adherence to the standards outlined in the project BIM Execution Plan and associated workflows.
  5. Support the preparation and modification of construction drawings utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.

Required Skills

  1. Proficient in managing diverse building projects from documentation through to construction.
  2. Able to communicate effectively within various team settings and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  3. Experience in producing contract administration documents.
  4. Management of the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, and preparing site visit reports.
  5. Strong ability to interpret and process shop drawings.
  6. Effective time management skills to handle multiple deadlines, deliverables, and budget constraints across concurrent projects.
  7. Highly organized, disciplined, and reliable, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  8. Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  9. A valid security clearance is advantageous.
  10. Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp is essential.
  11. High proficiency in Revit and BIM360 is crucial.
  12. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  13. Familiarity with Enscape and Microsoft Project is beneficial.
  14. A positive attitude, commitment, and a desire to contribute meaningfully are essential.

Experience Requirements

  1. A degree in Architectural Technology from a recognized university or college.
  2. A minimum of 7-15 years of experience in architectural technology.
  3. Demonstrated ability in multitasking, project management, and leadership.
  4. Relevant experience in leading, managing, and producing construction documents, specifications, and contract administration.
  5. Experience in managing the Construction Administration phase, including the preparation and issuance of Supplemental Instructions, Proposed Changes, Change Orders, and compiling close-out documentation.
  6. Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating documentation is essential.
  7. Field experience with construction site reviews is required.
  8. Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code, particularly Part 3, and applicable Zoning By-Laws is essential.
