Position Overview
The Logistics Engineering Coordinator is responsible for directing the Logistics Engineering team to collaborate with internal logistics, ensuring that processes are effectively designed, executed, adhered to, and enhanced while prioritizing health and safety recommendations and operational efficiency. Furthermore, this role involves leading the logistics engineering team to engage with BRP's supplier network to establish standard packaging and dimensions for new processes tailored to BRP's requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Administration
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
- Proven experience in supervising and guiding teams
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken
Skills and Certifications
- Exceptional communication abilities
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Proficient in project management
- Experience in budget management
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills
- High motivation and drive
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Solidworks, SAP, and KANBAN systems
- Excellent punctuality and responsibility
- Understanding of MRP, JIT systems, ISO standards, SPC, and SAP
- Knowledge in procurement, internal and external logistics, customs, planning, purchasing, transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to enhance material handling efficiency and warehouse layout
- Oversee process optimization within the Logistics Department, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved for PSP/DMAIC/OPS and IDEAs
- Foster effective relationships within the engineering team and with internal logistics teams, aligning with BRP's expectations.
- Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other departments and BRP suppliers.
- Ensure accurate codification of part numbers in SAP master data to prevent downtime and inefficiencies.
- Manage procurement, assignment, disposal, and maintenance of mobile equipment and warehouse racking.
- Ensure accurate manpower calculations for budgeting and operational needs.
- Propose, design, and secure budget approvals for cost-saving initiatives involving returnable packaging, ensuring the packaging fleet is complete and well-maintained.
- Prepare budget forecasts and conduct follow-ups, ensuring financial OPEX, ODC, and CAPEX align with BRP objectives. Open CAAR requests and ensure proper follow-up. Coordinate auxiliary projects.
- Lead the Logistics Engineering team in activities related to health and safety (preventive, corrective, ergonomic, etc.)
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to establishing, maintaining, and enhancing the Quality Management System.
- Promote continuous improvement and customer-centric approaches.
- Coordinate engineering changes, management information reports, and statistical data as necessary.
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of BRPMS initiatives.
- Undertake any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by the department manager.
- Participate in fulfilling the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements related to ISO standards.
- Adhere to safety regulations pertinent to the role.
- Complete training related to Quality and Training as scheduled.
- Identify and report quality and compliance issues and support corrective actions.
