- Merchandise Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and display of merchandise, ensuring that it is properly stocked and presented to customers.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving merchandise, and maintaining accurate records.
- Store Operations: Ensure that the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained, and that all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail sales environment.
- Work Setting: Urban area, retail business.
- Tasks: Assign sales workers to duties, hire and train or arrange for training of staff, order merchandise, authorize return of merchandise, establish work schedules, prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters, resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages, organize and maintain inventory, supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers.
- Supervision: 3-4 people, 5-10 people, retail salespersons and sales clerks.
- Art or Fashion Design Experience: Accessories, footwear, children's clothing.
- Area of Specialization: Clothing.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, dependability, initiative, judgement, ability to multitask.
