Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient and family-centered care in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to elderly clients, including those with Alzheimer's Disease or other dementias, under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Use nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to provide safe and effective care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment that promotes excellent patient care and staff well-being.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with care planning and tracking tools, such as InterRai LTCF and Netcare.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
