Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient and family-centered care in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to elderly clients, including those with Alzheimer's Disease or other dementias, under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Use nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to provide safe and effective care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment that promotes excellent patient care and staff well-being.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with care planning and tracking tools, such as InterRai LTCF and Netcare.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
