Job Title: Music Teacher Specialist

Job Summary:

HongDe Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Music Teacher Specialist to join our team. As a Music Teacher Specialist, you will be responsible for teaching music, choir, and musical theatre to students in grades K-5.

HongDe Elementary School is an independent bilingual K-7 school that offers a unique educational experience. Our school is committed to providing a well-rounded education that includes a strong focus on traditional Chinese and western culture values, as well as the development of virtues and character traits essential for society.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach music, choir, and musical theatre to students in grades K-5
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative music programs that meet the needs of all students
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into the curriculum
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education

Requirements:

  • Valid BC teaching certificate
  • Experience teaching music, choir, and musical theatre at the elementary level
  • Strong knowledge of inquiry-based and project-based learning approaches
  • Passion for innovation and creativity
  • Highly reflective and committed to continuous professional growth and improvement
  • Strong aptitude in differentiated learning styles
  • Native or native-like fluency in both oral and written traditional Mandarin
