Overview
The Manager of Audit Governance and Communications plays a crucial role in the success of the Audit Department on a global scale, functioning as part of the global Audit Professional Practice team. Reporting directly to the Director of Audit Governance and Reporting, this position is essential in ensuring that specific individual objectives, plans, and initiatives are effectively executed and communicated in alignment with the Chief Auditor's and Audit Department's strategic goals.
This role involves supporting the Director in overseeing the implementation of process and policy modifications throughout the department, which includes changes in methodologies, structural adjustments, the introduction of new technologies, and updates to policies and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing Audit governance standards for technical documentation, procedural guides, manuals, and communication templates.
Additionally, the Manager will lead knowledge management initiatives and facilitate the delivery of communication touchpoints for the Audit Department across various channels, including web platforms, email, blogs, events, and newsletters.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage broader organizational connections, systems, and knowledge.
- Oversee the implementation of programs for process and policy modifications across the department, ensuring all levels are informed of methodology changes, new technologies, and updated policies.
- Manage the planning and coordination of events such as town halls, conferences, and strategic offsite meetings.
- Draft comprehensive presentations and communications for senior leadership, including VPs, SVPs, and the Chief Auditor.
- Curate and maintain a repository of information and best practices through a Knowledge Management approach, utilizing web-based platforms.
- Maintain an updated repository of changes in regulations and the auditing profession to ensure compliance with evolving guidance.
- Track and report on departmental metrics for scorecards and escalations to senior management.
- Provide training on communication best practices for the Audit Department.
- Assist the Director in delivering regular updates on behalf of the Chief Auditor through various communication methods across all Audit department areas.
- Support the design and development of Audit governance standards for procedural guides and templates used by the department.
- Participate in the preparation of reporting, including quarterly updates for the Audit Committee and monthly reports for key business lines.
- Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture, integrating these considerations into daily activities and decision-making.
- Promote a high-performance environment by implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, and develops talent, fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Pursue operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with operational risk, regulatory compliance, and conduct risk frameworks.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in technical writing, design, marketing, or communications.
- Proven knowledge of best practices in change management processes and evaluations.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Adobe Professional and audio/video editing software.
- Experience in event planning and techniques for training and facilitating meetings.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and/or internal audit practices.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or Literature (or equivalent work experience) is required.
