About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Lab Technician to join our team at PML Sound International in Ottawa. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of our high-quality audio products.

Main Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test PCBs: Inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) for conformance to design specifications and perform electrical tests to validate their functionality.
  • Design and Build PCBs: Build, modify, and rework PCBs at various stages of the product design, from early prototypes to pre-production.
  • Electrical Testing: Perform electrical tests of equipment at the board and system levels to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Parts Acquisition and Inventory Management: Acquire electronic parts and equipment needed for projects and maintain a clean and organized stockroom and lab facility.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Be responsible for shipping and receiving equipment and materials.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in electronics (electronics technician, test technician, avionics technician, or similar) and 4+ years of hands-on experience debugging electronics hardware and performing electrical tests.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent soldering skills for through-hole and SMT parts, hand-to-eye coordination, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Team player with good attitude and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Google Workspace and PowerLogic/PowerPCB, understanding of analog and digital audio concepts, and passion for sound are assets.
