About the Role

Boralex Inc. is a leading player in the renewable energy sector, specializing in wind, solar, hydroelectricity, and storage. We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a key contributor to the execution of strategic solar projects and the development of our Procurement organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead market intelligence to identify opportunities for competitive advantage through partnerships with world-class suppliers in the solar energy industry.
  • Provide expert recommendations to internal stakeholders on the solar energy market, its development, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with development and project management teams to prepare and optimize project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop and manage commercial evaluations of vendors' proposals, ensuring alignment with Boralex' standards.
  • Negotiate commercial terms for the procurement of major equipment and services for solar project execution.
  • Organize and manage contract agreements negotiations with vendors, ensuring timely approvals from administrative bodies.
  • Oversee contract execution control, equipment and services purchasing, and vendor support for logistics and storage.
  • Resolve potential issues and disagreements with vendors during project execution.
  • Assist with the procurement of components for other projects (wind and energy storage) as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of the Procurement function by sharing ideas, feedback, and requirements from own areas of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in administration, engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an industrial company, preferably in energy or construction, with 5 years in procurement or supply-chain management or project management.
  • Experience in leading contract negotiation and contract management of contracts with a value over $10 million.
  • Experience in utility-scale solar project execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in multi-functional project implementation.
  • Experience working in or with global international business.
  • Strong project-management skills and experience in Microsoft Suite.
  • High proficiency in French is highly desired, with knowledge in Mandarin Chinese being an asset.
  • An established professional network among solar industry players is an asset.
