Position Overview

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a tenure track position in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program, produce high-quality research, and collaborate with colleagues. We seek applicants with expertise in one of the following areas: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Networks and Security, Quantum Computation, and Human Computer Interaction.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in their subject area and other fundamental areas of Computer Science at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will also be expected to supervise research students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Knowledge of Linux is an important asset for this position.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars who are active in research and teaching. Our faculty members are engaged in a diverse range of research areas, including database management, natural language processing, VLSI design, image processing, optimization, quantum computing, information and network security, software engineering, and data mining in music and sociolinguistics. We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science, as well as combined degree programs with other departments.
