Job Summary

Rising Edge Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrician Apprentice to join our team. As an Electrician Apprentice, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage equipment in our substations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day activities involved with substation construction and maintenance, including the installation of new equipment and the repair of existing systems.
  • Work with high voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switches, as well as voltage regulators, capacitor banks, and SCADA systems.
  • Install and maintain time-sensitive network and power cabling, including connection, location, and documentation of all circuits.
  • Perform preventive equipment maintenance, including scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency requests.
  • Develop work scopes, draft procedures, and perform routine repairs on substation equipment.
  • Comply with Rising Edge Group's operating and maintenance safe work practices, procedures, and standards at all times.
  • Develop and maintain test and maintenance reports while working under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Collaborate with Journeyman Electricians to install ground grids, power system equipment, and structural steel.

Requirements

  • Be indentured into the Electrical or PSE trade.
  • Have knowledge of the Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules as they relate to the Electrician role.
  • Hold a valid Provincial Class 5 driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, and computer-based test equipment.
  • Meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements.
  • Be able to work comfortably at heights.
