Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Execution

Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS systems, and other navigation devices.

Team Driving and Vehicle Operations

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.

Cargo Handling and Safety

Load and unload goods, ensure the safety and security of cargo, and perform emergency roadside repairs.

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.

Documentation and Communication

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and receive and relay information to central dispatch.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications and Licenses

AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Documentation Knowledge

Accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, inspection report, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, large workload, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, and sitting.

Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. The work language is English, and the job involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes.
