About this Opportunity

Cenovus Energy Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist Specialist to join our Conventional Development team in Calgary. Reporting to the Edson/Berland Sr Geoscience Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support capital program planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers to optimize inventory, plan wells, and perform execution reviews
  • Apply fully integrated geophysical interpretation to support drilling, completion, and disposal operations
  • Evaluate business development opportunities, including acquisitions and divestitures, mineral land tenure expiries, and crown land sale acquisitions
  • Contribute to Cenovus's subsurface community by participating in peer reviews, technical assurance, and knowledge sharing events
  • Generate new insights and opportunities to develop resources in core operating areas
Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • B.Sc. Degree or higher in Geophysics, with APEGA membership or another Provincial Professional Geoscience Organization
  • Minimum 12+ years of related industry experience
  • Experience with geoscience software, including SeisWare, Petrel, and Hampson-Russell
  • Strong skills in 3D seismic interpretation and visualization, seismic attribute analysis, and other specialized geophysical interpretative techniques
