About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Administration to join our team at McMaster University's School of Nursing. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting the School's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational management of the School, ensuring effective and efficient management of faculty and staff, financial resources, and research activities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support the School's goals and objectives, including financial management, human resource management, and research administration.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that support the School's mission and vision.
  • Oversee the management of research funds, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for marketing and communication activities, including the development of marketing plans and the implementation of communication strategies.
  • Oversee the management of information technology activities, including the development and implementation of technology plans to meet the needs of students, faculty, and administrative staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field, with appropriate experience.
  • 5-10 years of managerial experience in an academic health sciences centre and/or health care organization.
  • University administration experience preferred.
  • Nursing education programs experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with University structure, policy, and administrative systems.
  • Knowledge/proven experience developing organizational vision and strategic plans.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Financial analysis and analytical expertise.
