ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Merchandise Analyst, you will collaborate closely with our Local Merchandising and Marketing teams, along with our Global Merchandising Excellence and Data & Analytics divisions. Your role will be pivotal in championing Data Driven Merchandising (DDM) initiatives, facilitating informed decision-making, and providing insights to Local, National, and Global teams regarding business metrics and execution strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for Data Driven Merchandising initiatives, enabling data-informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate merchandise performance across various levels, including department, cluster, vendor, item, and location, focusing on pricing, promotions, and item assortment metrics.
  • Assist in documenting strategic decisions at the Business Unit (BU) level regarding pricing, promotions, and assortment.
  • Utilize available tools and reporting to deliver timely insights on BU Merchandise performance, enhancing data-driven decision-making.
  • Organize, summarize, and visualize data to transform complex findings into meaningful insights for non-analytical colleagues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive insights into actionable recommendations, identifying gaps and enhancing existing DDM tools and processes.
  • Apply technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools and models that provide insights and recommendations aligned with business objectives.
  • Support the annual DDM planning process for the business unit.
  • Engage with our Global Analytical network to address data and analytics challenges and share experiences with other Business Units.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure operational excellence within the business unit.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and networking opportunities.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving financial and key result area targets in accordance with company guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in data analysis.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, logical reasoning, and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with individuals across various organizational functions and levels.
  • Retail experience is considered an asset.
