Job Title: Relief ECE - Kindergarten and Primary Support

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Relief ECE at Mouse Mountain Elementary. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with our primary teachers and kindergarten teacher to provide a seamless day for kindergarten and primary students.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal or designate, the ECE will lead the before or after school care program for kindergarten and primary aged students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the primary teachers and kindergarten teacher to design programs and environments that enhance children's cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the before or after school care program for kindergarten and primary aged students
  • Collaborate with primary teachers and kindergarten teacher to design programs and environments that enhance children's cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
  • Work under the direction of the Principal or designate
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Early Childhood Education certificate or evidence of significant coursework in process
  • Valid BC Early Childhood Educator License to Practice; or has significant coursework completed towards licensing and the expectation of receiving license within 6-12 months
  • Valid Emergency Child First Aid with CPR Certification
  • Valid Food Safe - Level 1 Certificate or equivalent
  • High Five, BC Athletics - Run, Jump, Throw Program
  • BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
  • Two years' experience working in the Education system
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
