Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Loss Prevention Representative to join our team at CAA Club Group. As a Loss Prevention Representative, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating potential risks to our clients and their properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough property and casualty assessments, including on-site inspections and desk reviews, to identify potential risks and develop recommendations for risk improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports for underwriting teams and corresponding recommendation reports for policyholders and broker partners.
  • Communicate complex technical information and recommendations to underwriters, policyholders, and broker partners in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, marketing, and broker partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry-related codes and standards, including the Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, National Fire Protection Association standards, and Factory Mutual data sheets.
  • Organize and execute special loss prevention projects, including whitepapers, technical guides, and presentations, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a post-secondary education program with a focus on technical and/or engineering fields, including fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, or building construction.
  • Prior experience in a loss prevention role, particularly within the insurance industry, would be considered an asset.
  • Completion of, or willingness to pursue industry-related designations, including Chartered Insurance Professional, Canadian Risk Management, and/or National Fire Protection Association programs, would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of industry-related codes and standards, including the Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, National Fire Protection Association standards, and Factory Mutual data sheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to work through complex technical information and exercise judgment when dealing with ambiguous situations.
  • Highly organized, with an ability to multi-task and be flexible with regards to workload and assignments.
