Senior Engineer - Water Services

Join Metro Vancouver's Water Services Department as a Senior Engineer and play a key role in managing complex water infrastructure projects.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to lead our Water Services team. As a key member of our Engineering & Construction Division, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of capital, operational, and emergency repair work. Your expertise will be essential in providing input to technical standards, policies, and procedures, as well as acting as a technical resource to staff throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex water infrastructure projects, including capital, operational, and emergency repair work.
  • Provide input to technical standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate objectives.
  • Act as a technical resource to staff, providing guidance on technical issues, corporate policies, and project management.
  • Develop and implement technical standards, policies, and procedures to improve water infrastructure management.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, management, and government officials to develop regulatory or government policy initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
  • Extensive technical expertise and understanding of relevant engineering principles.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including sound report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proven contract administration and project management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
