Lead Automation Testing Engineer

In this position, you will:

  • Employ established test automation frameworks to design, construct, and uphold programs/scripts that execute automated tests on the code generated by the team.
  • Participate in the manual testing process alongside automated testing efforts.
  • Evaluate and pinpoint test scenarios suitable for automation.
  • Deliver requested automation scripts within an Agile framework, ensuring efficiency and precision while adhering to automation best practices.
  • Continuously enhance automated testing methodologies to empower QA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to maximize test coverage across the entire spectrum of enterprise products.

Do you possess the skills necessary to excel in this role? We would be excited to collaborate with you if you have:

  • Over 6 years of experience in Test Automation utilizing Selenium with Java.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks based on BDD/TDD principles (Using Cucumber, Maven, TestNG).
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Cucumber, Mocha, and Axe-core.
  • Hands-on experience with web-based applications and API web services.
  • Practical experience using tools like SOAP UI, Postman, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
  • Proficient in writing SQL/NoSQL queries.
  • Scripting experience in any of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Xray, and test management tools like HP ALM.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and hands-on experience in preparing testing artifacts such as test plans, strategies, test cases, and status reports.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile principles and the adaptability to apply this experience in new and evolving environments.
  • Previous experience in major Canadian banks or other financial institutions is considered an asset, particularly in web banking systems.
  • A background in computer engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
