Position Overview: EHS Compliance Specialist
We are seeking an EHS Compliance Specialist to join our team in Kanata, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations within designated nuclear regulatory and EHS program domains.
- Evaluate the implications of new or modified regulatory standards and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Incorporate updated regulatory requirements into compliance documentation and internal protocols.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide guidance on nuclear regulations and EHS matters.
- Engage in industry discussions regarding regulatory modifications.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation as required.
- Conduct internal compliance audits to ensure adherence to standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs for personnel at all organizational levels.
- Maintain effective communication with management and staff across various departments.
- Regularly liaise with regulatory bodies through both written and verbal communication.
- Assume responsibility for outcomes related to assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in a relevant field such as science or engineering is typically required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in nuclear regulatory compliance or within a regulated industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations, safety management systems, and the handling of radioactive materials is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication skills are essential.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail are required.
- This role may require coverage during holidays.
- Work will be conducted in both office and industrial settings.
