Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Production Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Finance department, tasked with ensuring timely and efficient period-end reporting, managing key G/L account reconciliations, and preparing legal entity financial statements.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations to identify and address potential issues or risks in collaboration with the finance team.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly financial outcomes, ensuring accuracy and completeness through detailed balance sheet and profit & loss analytics.
- Prepare supporting documentation for third-party participation payables, ensuring thoroughness and precision.
- Manage journal entries related to film investments, including amortization and intercompany reconciliations.
- Evaluate impairment indicators for film assets and conduct quarterly impairment testing analysis.
- Examine production financing structures and their implications for legal entity accounting and intercompany eliminations.
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing and managing accounting entries for various accounts, including those related to acquisitions and liabilities.
- Oversee legal entity accounting and transfer pricing adjustments to ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax regulations.
- Prepare documentation and analyses to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors.
- Coordinate internal, external, and statutory audits across various entities.
- Research and assess new financial disclosure requirements, documenting their impact on the organization.
- Implement and document accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices for the finance team.
- Assist in enhancing systems and automating financial reporting processes and reconciliations.
- Accounting designation is required; CPA-CA is preferred.
- Relevant experience as a financial analyst, particularly in a public company or media/studio production environment, is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities are essential.
- Proactive in challenging existing processes and open to innovative ideas from colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and a results-oriented mindset while upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
- A collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and succeed.
- Hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with financial reporting systems (e.g., Great Plains Dynamics, Management Reporter) is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet applications (i.e., Excel).
