Position Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary liaison, delivering comprehensive HR services to both leaders and employees. The HRBP engages, mentors, and informs clients on HR-related matters, offering strategic advice and support for various HR initiatives, including labor relations, talent management, succession planning, performance evaluation, employee engagement, conflict resolution, and frontline employee assistance.
In collaboration with the Manager of Talent and Business Partners, the HRBP utilizes a thorough understanding of the business to partner with the HR team, developing and implementing effective HR solutions and programs that align with business strategies and priorities. The HRBP champions company culture and enhances employee experience, focusing on building talent and leadership capabilities to support both short-term and long-term organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a partner and advocate for employees, aligning business strategies with HR services and solutions. Collaborate closely with the HRBP Manager and local management to ensure the right talent is in place to achieve business objectives.
- Facilitate the execution of cyclical HR programs, including performance management and talent succession planning. Provide coaching and support to management in performance-related processes.
- Enhance compliance with legislative programs and policies, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing effective solutions.
- Support the cultivation of a strong organizational culture and improve employee engagement through various initiatives.
- Assist in resolving HR-related issues proactively by coaching on conflict management techniques.
- Identify change management challenges and develop strategies to address them.
- Analyze HR metrics to assist in identifying trends and developing strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with team leaders and union representatives to foster positive union relations and minimize grievances.
- Participate in discussions regarding employee conditions and provide insights to management on potential solutions.
- Maintain a network of contacts to stay informed on industry trends and legislative changes affecting HR practices.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, organizational studies, labor relations, or business administration, or equivalent professional experience.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation or Human Resources Management Certificate is advantageous.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant HR experience as a generalist.
- Experience in a unionized environment is highly valued, particularly in grievance handling and contract negotiations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills with proven problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience in utilizing data and analytics to inform recommendations.
- Ability to navigate and influence diverse stakeholder groups effectively.
- Adaptability in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Strong capability to assess the implications of decisions.
Additional Information
The candidate must be willing to travel to remote sites, adhering to specific policies during visits. Pre-employment screenings, including medical and background checks, are required.
