Mastronardi Produce, a leading producer of fresh produce, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Greenhouse Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our growers, ensuring the optimal health and production of our crops.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and record daily EC and PH levels in irrigation water to ensure optimal plant growth.
- Conduct weekly checks on Priva boxes, adding distilled water and wicks as needed to maintain accurate temperature readings.
- Use a meter to check water content, temperature, and fertilizer levels in growing bags, recording data in our computer database.
- Mix fertilizer batches and monitor tank levels, notifying growers of any necessary adjustments.
- Fill and monitor sulfur pots to prevent powdery mildew, ensuring a healthy crop environment.
- Collect and send water samples to an offsite laboratory for analysis, impacting future fertilizer batches.
- Conduct weekly inventory of minerals and liquids used in irrigation rooms.
- Perform plant registration tasks, tracking growth progression and crop development.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of irrigation rooms and acid tanks.
- Unload bees and place hives in designated areas throughout the greenhouses.
- Monitor and maintain pumps and filters in the greenhouse and irrigation room.
- Assist with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) duties as needed.
- Agricultural experience in a greenhouse or produce environment is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree is an asset.
- Forklift experience or ability to be trained is required.
The Greenhouse Support Specialist will work in a fast-paced greenhouse environment with temperatures reaching up to 70°F and background noise levels approaching 70 decibels. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
