Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Porter Mail Clerk to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a Porter Mail Clerk, you will play a vital role in transporting patients between hospital units and other treatment areas, ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients between hospital units and other treatment areas, using stretchers and wheelchairs as needed.
  • Assist nursing staff in lifting and transferring patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Sort and distribute mail, reports, and laboratory specimens as required.
  • Clean and maintain transporting equipment, including stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively, including patients, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting and transferring patients.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks effectively.
