Job Summary:
ERM is seeking a highly skilled Field Operations Specialist to support our heritage studies in Lac La Biche, Alberta. The successful candidate will conduct archaeological field surveys, working closely with our team to identify and record potential sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pedestrian surveys and shovel testing of landforms identified as having high archaeological potential, recording sites and collecting data.
- Ensure compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environment policies, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required, contributing to the success of our team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong interest in the Environmental sector.
- Ability to travel via off-road vehicles and walking long distances in all types of weather and terrain, observing and identifying biophysical and heritage features.
- Valid driver's license and previous experience in environmental field studies are considered assets.
- Reliable transportation from home location to Lac La Biche is required, with accommodations, meals, and transportation to survey locations provided by ERM.
- Environmental or Archaeological/Anthropological degree completed or in progress, valid First Aid, and other industry training certificates are also considered assets.
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots are required for field work, with other survey and personal protective equipment provided by ERM.
- Ability to work 10-hour days, 60-hour week, maintaining a high level of productivity and focus.
