Field Measurement Coordinator

A prominent oil and gas organization is seeking a dedicated Field Measurement Coordinator. This role will primarily operate in a local capacity, with a schedule that may vary between a 5/2 or 4/3 workweek, and occasional travel may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and measurement accuracy.
  • Provide expert technical guidance for the design, installation, maintenance, and enhancement of measurement systems, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding new and existing measurement regulations.
  • Collaborate with Operations to assess and resolve measurement-related challenges, including proration discrepancies and measurement inaccuracies.
  • Engage with essential stakeholders such as Production Accounting, Operations, and Engineering teams.
  • Maintain and update measurement schematics in compliance with regulatory requirements and production accounting practices.
  • Manage intricate solutions analysis, including FFV and metering schematics.
  • Establish and oversee scheduling for LGR well testing and exemptions.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure proper calibration templates are utilized and expectations are clearly communicated.
  • Validate and archive calibration reports.
  • Supervise meter calibrations, proves, and water draws.
  • Possess a solid understanding of EFM systems and communicate compliance needs to SCADA personnel.
  • Understand FDC systems and relay concerns to the FDC coordinator.
  • Provide measurement training to operational staff as required.
  • Inform stakeholders of operational changes to ensure accurate representation in measurement schematics.
  • Support monthly and annual meter proving with vendors.
  • Ensure testing procedures align with OGC guidelines and explore opportunities for extensions and exemptions.
  • Review RTU gas composition loads on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct post-commissioning reviews of new wells for accuracy, ensuring initial samples and calibrations are scheduled.
  • Investigate measurement issues and compliance inquiries.
  • Recommend necessary compliance measures.
  • Conduct field measurement audits.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Instrument Technician certification.
  • Experience in field operations is highly advantageous.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of flow measurement equipment in both liquid and gas mediums.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, resourcefulness, and self-motivation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Exhibit leadership capabilities and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Maintain a high standard of integrity, with an energetic and collaborative approach.
  • As a subject matter expert in measurement regulations, be knowledgeable and willing to learn about regulations specific to British Columbia.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently within a small team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility around oil and gas facilities.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
