About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team at Hants Community Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a physician to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as, local simulation-based opportunities.

The Emergency Department at Hants Community Hospital is a 24-hour facility that provides inpatient care, long-term care, surgery programs, and specialty clinics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full scope emergency medicine services and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Responsibilities
  • Provide full scope emergency medicine services
  • Be responsible to the Department Head for Emergency Medicine for professional responsibilities and quality of practice
Expected Hours
  • Full-time position
  • 10-hour day shifts and 14-hour night shifts available
  • Flexible shifts each month
  • Single coverage shifts
Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
