As an educator at Oxford Learning, you will benefit from pre-planned lessons, allowing you to focus on teaching rather than preparation. Comprehensive training will be provided in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies.
Position Requirements
All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school hours and some weekends. A commitment to the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue into the summer. Reliability and a positive attitude are essential.
This position requires in-person attendance, and candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. A background check is mandatory.
We invite you to apply if you meet the following qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Final-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is advantageous
- Strong understanding of the current Grades 9-12 mathematics and science curriculum, particularly in areas such as Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Experience:
- Experience in teaching or tutoring mathematics and science at the secondary level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong proficiency in mathematics and science, with the ability to assist students in their learning
- Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will engage directly with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:
- Instructing up to three students at varying levels
- Adhering to the educational methodologies and philosophies of Oxford Learning
- Documenting post-lesson notes
- Providing daily updates on student progress
- Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
