Work Environment

The position is based in an urban setting, requiring adaptability to various tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough cleaning of hallways, floors, and staircases through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing.
  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to efficiently remove debris and refuse.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash receptacles and other waste containers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance contractors for repairs and upkeep of the facility.
  • Execute minor appliance repairs as needed.
  • Perform safety inspections and security checks regularly.
  • Supervise and guide other maintenance staff.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repairs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
Transportation Requirements
  • Must possess own transportation and a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, including items over 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Willingness to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
