About the Role

Fancy Doors and Mouldings Ltd is seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team. As a Trades Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Materials: Assist in the movement of construction materials, ensuring timely delivery to site locations.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Contribute to the preparation and application of materials such as concrete and asphalt, adhering to quality standards.
  • Support Medical Examiner: Collaborate with the medical examiner in charge to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in Pipeline Construction: Help align pipes during pipeline construction, ensuring accurate placement and connection.
  • Support Drilling and Blasting Operations: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to Framing and Construction: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, adhering to building codes and regulations.
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Assist in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Machine Operation and Maintenance: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, ensuring proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Site Traffic Management: Direct traffic at or near construction sites, ensuring a safe and efficient flow of vehicles and personnel.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment, adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Physically Demanding: Perform tasks that require physical effort, including handling heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Engage in repetitive tasks, maintaining focus and attention to detail.
  • Handling Heavy Loads: Lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
Weight Handling
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs): Handle materials and equipment weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs), ensuring safe lifting and carrying practices.
