IKO is actively searching for a dedicated Commercial Product Consultant to collaborate with our team of professionals across Canada. This hybrid position allows for flexibility in working from home as well as from various locations. The new Commercial Product Consultant will concentrate on market analysis, ensuring product compliance, and driving product innovation. This role emphasizes relationship building, organization, and the execution of new product initiatives while collaborating with teams nationwide on our existing product lineup. This is a chance to leverage your expertise and contribute to the advancement of our organization through the application of best practices and industry testing standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all products comply with Canadian and US Codes & Standards.
- Lead testing and evaluations for both new and existing products to align with current Canadian and US Codes & Standards as well as market demands.
- Conduct market research and customer assessments to support and validate new product development investments.
- Oversee new product development initiatives in Canada, including training for new products.
- Manage and coordinate new product applications during field trials.
- Collaborate within the Commercial Sales Technical Team alongside other departments such as R&D, marketing, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape (market parameters, trends, continuous benchmarking, new market requirements, and opportunities).
- Represent IKO at industry events, enhancing the brand's authority on Building Science issues, which includes conducting seminars and training sessions for key audiences and providing on-site assistance for various challenges.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in a related industry position is preferred, with a solid understanding of Canadian Codes & Standards such as FM, ULC, CSA, etc. A willingness to learn and expand product knowledge is essential.
- Educational Background: A post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.
- Personal Attributes: A strong motivation, passion for the industry, and adaptability are crucial. You should be dedicated to market research and relationship building while managing multiple tasks independently. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel across North America are necessary.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required. You should be comfortable presenting and training at industry events. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is expected.
- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, sales personnel, and external industry partners are vital.
- Additional Qualifications: Familiarity with Commercial Building Envelope and previous experience in the building materials sector are advantageous.
