The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in our facility for the daily production of our products. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues with processing equipment, utilizing your working knowledge of electrical systems to achieve efficient results.
  • Program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) to optimize equipment performance.
  • Read and understand electrical power and control system wiring and schematics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot motor controls, temperature sensors, and safety sensors to ensure equipment operates within safe parameters.
  • Work with voltages ranging from 24V to 575V, 3 phase, and read logic and flow diagrams to understand system operations.
  • Carry out oral and printed work requests, applying corrective action as needed.
  • Perform regular Work Orders and account for inventory and labor on a computerized maintenance program.
  • Understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Policies.
Requirements:
  • Red Seal Certification in Electrical.
  • Own hand tools and knowledge of plant and equipment operations.
  • Ability to organize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts.
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Available for weekend overtime as production demands require.
