About the Role

Crown Flooring and Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, repairing, and applying a layer of adhesive.
  • Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile placement.
  • Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives as needed.
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on tile installation techniques.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles as needed.
  • Install tile strips to complete the installation.
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in tile installation.
  • Ability to work on the road and travel to various job sites.
  • Permanent employment with Crown Flooring and Construction Ltd.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
