POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Planning Manager, this role is responsible for developing and enhancing forecast accuracy metrics, consensus planning processes, and S&OP cadence within Polytainers. You will play a key role in improving current processes and overall performance while being instrumental in designing and executing the demand planning function during the future state SAP ERP transformation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate volume forecasts by executing the demand planning components of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and analyzing data.
  • Facilitate cross-functional agreement on volume forecasts.
  • Consolidate forecast components across a full 12-month horizon, ensuring values and assumptions are validated to create an unconstrained demand plan.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities in sales volume based on statistical analysis, activity evaluations, and other market intelligence.
  • Provide analysis and input into the capacity plan and recommend CAPEX requirements to ensure service, growth, and cost objectives are met during the annual budgeting process.
  • Monitor and manage forecast accuracy KPIs and drive improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in Demand & Supply Reconciliation Meetings as part of the S&OP process.
  • Coordinate management of SKU transitions, slow-moving and obsolete goods, and highlight risks associated with customer/item demand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Educational Requirements: BS/BA degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.

Minimum Experience/Field: 2 years of experience in Planning, Forecasting, Scheduling, and/or S&OP within a fast-paced, high-volume, Lean Manufacturing environment. Experience in injection molded plastics and/or food packaging make-to-order businesses would be an asset.

Computer Skills: Strong PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and MRP/ERP systems.

Communication Skills: Proven track record working with people, problem resolution, and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

Additional Education/Experience/Skills: Experience with SAP and APICS or other related certifications would be an asset.
